Let It Go

After reading chapter one, I noticed that the teacher, Kim, had a very organized classroom with several options for all students. I like that the teacher showed the students that its ok to take risk and let it go. Being flexible will get you farther with your education. Those are two important aspects to consider in the classroom. I also like how she shows the students that flexibility is something that you have to do even in your adult life. Letting them know to take risk is just another way of learning. Loved how the teacher had different stations set up so that all students could find something of interest to get them engaged. Being a first-year teacher has showed me that engagement is a huge role in student learning. Making connections with the students is an important aspect for the students learning, as well. I want to be that teacher that provides that connection so I can give the students the best education possible.

A student needs are the key to them being successful in the classroom. I will make a connection with the student and provide the needs that they need to be successful. If a student is struggling, I will ask them what I can do to help. I will do my best to do what they ask of me. Allowing the students to have some input lets them feel like they have a say in their learning, instead of the teacher all the time. In my classroom I always try to let the students have a say on how they want to learn whatever lesson is being taught.

  1. Meeting the student needs is incredibly important. This is how we let them know that they have been seen and heard.
